In 1965, the 6 story tall building of Seashore Oaks (formerly "Seashore Manor") was built by the United Methodists of Mississippi as a retirement community. It was owned and operated by Methodist Senior Services. The property was originally a part of the "Seashore Methodist Campground" established 140 years ago, which is still operational next door to the east (see video).
In 1969, Seashore Manor survived Hurricane Camille but in 2005 it did not survive Hurricane Katrina (see photo). In 2007, the United Methodists sold the property to a condo developer who re-built it. In 2011, the Biloxi Housing Authority bought the property with a 21.5 million dollar grant. It was renamed "Seashore Oaks" and opened in the Spring of 2011 where it continued its original mission of serving seniors.

NICE POOL AREA... Now History...
Seashore Oaks did (past tense) have a nice pool area... not now. It was built prior to BHA's purchase of the property in 2011. BHA took it out around 2019. ;-(
Still don't know exactly why.
The only thing that remains is the black iron fence and a grass lawn where the pool area was.
